The difference between a food web and a food chain is that a food chain is less complex and has less animals.

Look at the diagram above. List all the possible food chains you can find in this picture below:

Sun>Grass>insects>Skunk/Bird/Opossum >hawk
Sun> Plant> Deer> Cougar/Bear
Sun> Rodent>Owl/Fox
Sun>Berry Bushes>birds>Owl/Fox

for example SUN -> grass -> rodent -> fox -> cougar

Her are some food chains I found:

• sun -> grass -> rodent -> fox

• sun -> berry bushes -> birds -> fox/owl
• sun -> flowers -> deer -> bear/cougar
• sun -> trees -> insects -> skunk/birds/opossum

What is the advantage of using a food chain as a model to represent an ecosystem?


Their is an advantage because you can see all
the animals that are in the food chain, food web
just tells the food chain not the animals.
